How SELA INTERNATIONAL LTD collects, uses and retains the data submitted through this site — and how to exercise your rights.
Data controller
The data controller is SELA INTERNATIONAL LTD, 4th Floor, Hennessy Tower, Pope Hennessy Street, Port Louis, Mauritius. Any question concerning personal data may be sent to direction@sela-international.com.
Applicable law
Processing is subject to the Data Protection Act 2017 of the Republic of Mauritius. Where the data subject is located in the European Union, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) also applies, as the company offers its goods and services to companies established in the Union.
Data collected
This site collects no personal data without the visitor’s knowledge. The only data gathered is what you voluntarily enter into one of the site’s forms:
- Professional identity and contact details: name, role, company name, email address, telephone, country, website.
- Content of the enquiry: product families, volumes, destination market, Incoterm, capacity, certifications, free-text message.
- Minimal technical data attached to the submission: timestamp and a non-reversible fingerprint of the IP address, retained solely for anti-abuse rate limiting.
Purposes and legal bases
- Answering a quotation request or supplier application — legal basis: pre-contractual steps taken at the data subject’s request.
- Managing the resulting commercial relationship — legal basis: performance of the contract.
- Preventing abusive automated submissions — legal basis: legitimate interest in protecting the infrastructure.
- Measuring site audience anonymously — legal basis: consent, obtained through the banner and revocable at any time.
No data is used for unsolicited marketing, profiling or automated decision-making. No data is sold, rented or exchanged.
Recipients
Data is accessible only to SELA INTERNATIONAL LTD staff handling the enquiry. It passes through three technical processors acting on documented instructions and bound by an agreement compliant with Article 28 GDPR: Vercel Inc. (website hosting), Resend (delivery of notification emails) and Cloudflare, Inc. (Turnstile anti-bot protection), all three established in the United States.
Transfers outside the European Union
SELA INTERNATIONAL LTD, established in Mauritius, collects the data you enter on this site directly; the GDPR applies to that processing under Article 3(2). Mauritius is not covered by a European Commission adequacy decision. Onward transmissions to processors established in the United States are governed by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the processor participates in it, and otherwise by the Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. Retention periods
- Enquiry with no commercial follow-up: 24 months from the last exchange, then deletion.
- Established commercial relationship: for the duration of the relationship, then archived for the applicable limitation period.
- Anti-abuse technical fingerprint: 24 hours maximum.
- Proof of consent to analytics: 6 months, the lifetime of the choice stored on the device.
Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection, together with the right to portability of the data you have provided. You may withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand. These rights are exercised in writing to direction@sela-international.com; a response is provided within one month.
You may lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Office of Mauritius or, if you reside in the European Union, with the supervisory authority of your Member State.
Security
The site is served exclusively over HTTPS with HSTS. Forms are protected by strict client-side and server-side validation, per-origin rate limiting and an anti-bot mechanism. Submitted data is not stored in any publicly accessible database: it is routed to the company’s business mailbox.
